– Cooking oil (for frying)
Instructions
Creating Smash Burger Tacos is a breeze if you follow these simple steps:
1. Prepare Ingredients: Gather and chop all ingredients—dice the tomatoes, shred the lettuce, and slice the pickles.
2. Make the Sauce: In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
3. Prepare the Beef: In a large bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide it into 8 equal portions (about 2 ounces each).
4. Heat Cooking Oil: In a large skillet, heat a couple of tablespoons of oil over medium-high heat. Make sure it’s hot before proceeding to the next step.
5. Sear the Patties: Place the beef portions in the skillet, leaving space between them. Using a spatula, smash each beef portion down flat to maximize the surface area.
6. Cook the Patties: Allow the patties to cook for about 2-3 minutes without moving them. When a nice crust forms, flip them and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
7. Warm Tortillas: While the patties are cooking, in another skillet or griddle, warm the tortillas for about 20-30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable.
8. Assemble the Tacos: Place a smashed burger patty in the center of each warmed tortilla. Top generously with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, diced onions, and pickles.
9. Drizzle with Sauce: Add a dollop of the sauce you prepared earlier on top of the fillings for added flavor.
10. Serve Immediately: Enjoy your Smash Burger Tacos hot and fresh off the skillet.
